Empowering women includes a genuine concern for their safety. The way so many groups keep pushing for easy access to the abortion drug RU-486 -- and saying it is in the best interest of women -- sounds dubious, considering the deaths that have resulted from using the pill.
The Susan B. Anthony List is a nationwide network of Americans (over 140,000 residing in all states) dedicated to mobilizing and advancing pro-life women in politics. Here's what transpired at Capitol Hill:

SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser joined other pro-family groups and Members of Congress this week to call attention to the two new tragic deaths caused by RU-486. "Just two months ago, many of us stood here on Capitol Hill and called on Congress to take steps to protect women from RU486, a drug we all know not to be safe. A drug we all know can be deadly. Congress did nothing and sadly, two more women have died. How many press conferences - more importantly - how many women will have to lose their lives before Congress acts?" said Dannenfelser.
